WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?

Functional Training is purposeful exercise that translates to activities and everyday movements outside of the gym. It helps your body's ability to move efficiently as one unit.

We want to be fit, we want to be healthy, some of us may want to look a certain way - which is why we go to the gym. However, all of these things are pointless if we cannot move freely, with ease, and without pain whilst carrying out day to day tasks.

Our objective is to BUILD BODIES FIT FOR LIFE. 

Functional Training uses compound multipoint movements that engage the whole body; squats, lunges, deadlifts etc. equip you for daily activities such as bending, twisting, lifting, loading, pushing, pulling. Compound exercises use more than one muscle group and require movement in all directions, just as everything you do in your daily life does. Very rarely do we isolate one muscle group to carryout our general activities.

 

Mixing weight training (with free weights or body-weight) with cardio and gymnastics Function Training is programmed for endurance, stamina, strength, power and agility, but also improves coordination, balance, and body awareness, all vital for health and safety of movement as we get older to avoid unnecessary injuries.

 

Functional Training is a style of workout for function. Function is purpose.
