THIS WEEK AT THE GYM: NCX



What’s up NCX’ers!?

Benchmark week was an absolute blast - at least it was for me to coach it!

We don’t always have to push ourselves to our limits, but sometimes it’s good to test what we’re made of both physically and mentally, so his week, we’ll be getting back to business with some strength work.

As mentioned a few weeks back, we’ll be taking the rest of June off structured strength, so we’ll be hitting some unilateral pushing and pulling, rotational core work, and some lateral lunging.

These crucial movements keep our bodies balanced and work the smaller muscles that often get overlooked with just the big compound lifts.


For Workout of the Week, look no further than Saturday’s Annual Benchmark, “The Magnificent Seven”



7 ROUNDS FOR TIME :


7 Back Squats (115/75)
7 Push Press
7 DB Thrusters (50/35)
7 Pull-Ups
7 Knees to Elbows
7 Hand Release Push-Ups
7 Box Jumps (30/24)

This workout is an absolute grind.

7 movements

7 repetitions.

BE WARNED: It only gets tougher as the heart rate climbs.

The goal for this workout is to keep each movement unbroken and minimize the time between each transition.
